Located on a tight urban site within Gosport Conservation Area, Stoke House transforms a dilapidated outbuilding into a contemporary family home. Developed in close collaboration with our clients, the design delivers modern living and environmental performance while remaining sensitive to its historic surroundings.
We provided full architectural services from concept to planning approval – navigating planning and conservation area policies and the need to maximise the potential of a compact urban site. The approved scheme features a gabled roof, red brickwork and dark-stained timber cladding, blending local character with clean, contemporary lines. Despite its modest scale, the two-storey home includes open-plan living, an integrated garage, and a second bedroom within the roof space – meeting National Space Standards while maximising the site’s potential.
Sustainability played a key role with features such as solar panels, an EV charging point and swift box and a bee brick to support local biodiversity.
These elements future-proof the home and reflect our commitment to responsible green design. Through a sensitive and strategic design approach, Stoke House not only secured planning approval but also revitalises a neglected site into a modern family home—contributing positively to the neighbourhood and stands as a testament to thoughtful design.
