Light House Studio have completed a gable rear extension to a new-build house in Rowland’s Castle, Hampshire. Designed to enhance both functionality and form, the extension provides a spacious, light-filled dining area that has transformed the rear of the property into a serene and elegant living space.
A vaulted ceiling, high-level feature window, and extensive glazing frame picturesque views of the garden, while drawing in natural light and creating a dramatic sense of openness. The design was carefully considered to ensure the new structure integrates seamlessly with the existing architecture.
Matching materials—including cement weatherboard cladding and slate roof tiles—were selected to match the materials of the existing house, while timber frame construction supported sustainability, precision, and performance. A high-level window above the French doors, along with strategically positioned roof lights, enhances the indoor-outdoor connection, celebrating both light and landscape.
From concept to completion, Light House Studio worked closely with the clients to bring their vision to life. The result is a harmonious addition that adds both amenity value and architectural interest—offering a refined space that seamlessly links to the existing house.
